About

Sea Turtle

Ocean Youth Eco International Film Festival (OYEIFF) is an annual film festival for young filmmakers focusing on raising awareness about ocean protection.

Short films (no longer than 30 minutes) made by primary and secondary school students will be screened online and on location in Hong Kong (depending on covid restrictions).

The festival is open to young filmmakers (primary and secondary school students) from around the world.

The language of the submitted movies can be English or Chinese. In the case of films made in other languages, they must have English or Chinese subtitles.

Ocean Youth Eco International Film Festival OYEIFF relates directly to SDG14 Life under Water.

Location

The film festival will last 2 days. It will be held at Renaissance College HK, or it might be online if Covid restrictions don't allow us to do that.

Workshops

In the months leading up to the festival, we'll hold at least 2 workshops about Filmmaking for Social Change, which can help people get started on how to make films. These workshops will be held online, through Zoom, so people won't have to go anywhere for those. Sign up here.

Ema Poposka

Hi, my name is Ema and I am passionate about ocean protection, circular economy and social justice. I believe art and storytelling can create empathy and inspire action.

Olivia Sun

I am from Year 10 at RCHK, and I joined this club in hope to gain new experience revolving around teamwork, marine biology and filmography.

Sky San

Hi! I am 16 years old. I am a big fan of nature, hiking reading, running, and filmmaking! I joined this project because I wanted to share my filmmaking skills to aspiring filmmakers and help raise the public's awareness to the issues!

Elise Chu

Hi!! I joined this club because I was interested in protecting and raising awareness of sea animals and the ocean. I think taking pictures or filming marine animals are a good way to know them more.

Alyssa Leong

Hello. I'm 11 years old. I am in Year 7 at RCHK. I like reading books and sometimes drawing things. I joined this club because I want to learn more about protecting the ocean and the animals that live there.
